Starting March 1, 2020 you may notice changes to the monthly menu and food options for the Main Station Café.
In conjunction with the BeWELL for Life Incentive Plan and the strategic weight loss path that many employees have chosen as part of that BeWell Incentive Plan, healthier food options will now be available in our cafeteria.
Members of the Nutritional Services Department and the BeWELL Committee have worked with Dr. Samuel Ross to incorporate these healthier options. You will notice:
- The daily specials have changed and now serve as the healthy entrée option for each day of the week. Please note the nutritional values that will be listed for the healthy entrée in the café will not include bread.
- On the monthly menu, healthy side dishes are marked with an asterisk (*).
- New items will be available in the cooler section of the café including cheese sticks, meat sticks and grapefruit cups.
- At least one vegetarian option will be available every day and will be marked with a (V) on the monthly menu.
- Low-fat cottage cheese and hard-boiled eggs will be available on the fruit bar for added protein.
- The left side of the salad bar will be reserved for low-carb, low-starch, low-sugar items and salad toppings. The right side of the salad bar will offer healthy options that may not fit into those categories. A flyer that lists the nutritional values for items on the salad bar and fruit bar is available in the Main Station Cafe near the register.
- Healthy salad dressings will be marked with an image of the BeWELL Bee.
We hope these changes will help with meal planning and help all of our team members live a healthier lifestyle.
