Sock Drive at TBH

The Bellevue Hospital (TBH) has recently partnered with Bellevue City Schools to help support students in need.

TBH will be hosting a sock drive beginning Monday, Jan. 21 through Monday, Feb. 4. and we are encouraging TBH employees to donate NEW socks to help keep children warm this winter!

1) NEW socks, pre-school size 11 through adult size 14 may be donated.

2) Drop off boxes are located in the TBH mailroom, Main Station Café, 2nd floor night shift pantry and near Anytime Fitness (across the street in the Eagle Crest building).

3) Our goal is to collect 1,000 pairs of socks by Feb. 4

The sock drive is the kick-start to a larger project TBH and the schools will be working on together.

Our goal is to make it easier for children to obtain basic hygiene necessities that they may not be receiving at home through the creation of a “hygiene closet”. The closet will stock items such as socks, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo and other items that teachers and guidance counselors can discreetly distribute to students who need them.

The hygiene closets will be available in the Bellevue Elementary School, Bellevue Middle School and Bellevue High School. While the schools are still working on exact details, one of the items needed for students are SOCKS – especially during these cold winter months.

We will continue to provide more information about the hygiene closets throughout the next few weeks.
