July 2019 Eat Right Challenge

Eat Right Challenge - July 2019

How Much Sugar Do You Consume?

Sugar, it’s found natural in many fruits and vegetables. These are healthy foods that contain water, fiber and many vitamins and minerals. Naturally occurring sugars are fine, but the same does not apply to ADDED SUGAR.

Added sugar is the main ingredient in candy, beverages and many processed foods. It has no nutritional value and can damage metabolism over the course of time. Excess sugar is associated with obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, cancers, tooth decay, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

The American Heart Association Guidelines Recommend:

36g maximum added sugar per day for men

24g maximum added sugar per day for women

(Less is better!)

For July’s Eat Right Challenge, we are asking you to monitor your ADDED SUGAR CONSUMPTION for three days. Please use the link below to complete the activity.
